Born in Newmarket in Q4-1880 [Newmarket 3b:507], the 1st son ( they already had 6 daughters) of Samuel and Fanny TIPLADY (née FROST)
of 12 Bakers Row, Exning Road, Newmarket.
1881 census...Frederick [4 months] was at 12 Bakers Row, with his father Samuel [40] stableman born Bradford, Yorks., his mother Fanny [38] born Willoughby, Warks., and his 6 sisters, Annie E [12], Jane A [11], Hannah [10], Fanny [7], Emily [5] and Alice [2]. All the children were born in Newmarket. 1891 census...Frederick [10] was still at 12 Bakers Row with his parents and sisters Fanny and Alice. 1901 census...Frederick [20] now a carman, was the only child at home with his parents in 12 Bakers Row. 1911 census...Frederick [31] now a general labourer was still with his parents at 12 Bakers Row. It is recorded that 2 children had died. He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds, but died only two weeks later in the General Military Hospital, Colchester from acute bronchitis. His service did not entitle him to any medals The Newmarket Journal of 11th March 1916 reported:- PTE. TIPLADY'S FUNERAL The death occurred on February 27th at Colchester Military Hospital of Frederick Samuel Tiplady, son of Mr.S.Tiplady of this town. The deceased had enlisted only a fortnight before his death, which resulted from acute bronchitis. The interment took place at Newmarket Cemetery on Saturday last, the Rev. H.B.Young officiating. The coffin was of polished elm with brass fittings and bore the inscription"Pte.Frederick Samuel Tiplady, 10th Batt. Suffolk Regiment, aged 35 years."......floral tributes included..from the officers of the Bantam Regiment (10th Suffolks); from the n.c.o's and men of G Company, 10th Battn.
